Purple for Life!

TCU/Fort Worth was a great place to spend my college years. I met some great friends and Jay. Through meeting Jay my eyes were opened up to what a true TCU fan is. Let me just say I have never seen anything like it. My entire family is from New Orleans, so they are all big LSU fans! I thought my family was crazy for LSU, but they don't hold a candle to Jay's family and friends. Initially I was very annoyed by the whole thing, but I can say now that I am used to it. I have been around it for 5 years now, so it was about time I joined in the fun. I am still not on the same level as everyone else, but I do enjoy the football games... when they win and they play a good team!
Jay and I were attracted to TCU for two completely different reasons. I loved the beautiful campus, work-out center, sororities etc. TCU opened up my eyes to fashion. Going to an all girls school, fashion included my uniform, T-shirts, and shorts. Jay doesn't believe me when I say this, but I didn't own a single pair of designer jeans until I went to TCU! Within the first week of being at TCU I saw more designer sunglasses, jeans, purses etc. than I ever had before. I blame it all on Fort Worth! :)
Jay was attracted to TCU because of the sports and cute girls. The girl to boy ratio at TCU when we were there was 3-1. There were 3 girls to every 1 boy! If I was a boy I would be attracted to that too! By the way, I believe the ratio is even worse now!
Jay came to TCU obsessed with TCU football when they weren't even good, so now that they are actually really good... obsession is an understatement!

TCU sports have really taken off this past year. TCU and Florida were the only two schools nationally this season to play in a BCS game in football, reach the college world series in baseball, and win a national championship in another sport. I don't normally care about all of this, but I can't help but have a little bit of school pride. I guess you could call me a fair weather fan, but at least I am a fan! With football season around the corner the topic of conversation is now focused on pretty much only football. I always see Jay looking at this link. I thought other fellow TCU fans might enjoy it if you don't already know about it.

If you are interested in attending the TCU vs. Oregon St. season opener at cowboys stadium I have a friend who works for the cowboys that can hook you up with some good group prices! Let me know if you are interested and I will tell him.

Summer

So, I am officially on summer break! I have been finding myself sitting around and bothering others on g-chat, since all of friends work during the summer. So I have decided to make good use out of my time and create a blog! I guess that could be called good use of time!
My second year of teaching has come to an end! It went by so fast. I get a new group of second grade babies next year, which I am very excited about!

This summer has been a busy one so far! One of my very best friends, Natalie Koeijmans married her high school sweet heart Barrett Koch. They got married June 5th and I had the honor of being one of her bridesmaids. It was so fun to have everyone back together again for a weekend! This wedding was so special because I have been friends with both Natalie and Barrett since freshman year of high school! Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

The very next weekend Jay and I had two weddings to go to so we had to split up. I headed to San Antonio for a close family friend's wedding and Jay stayed in Dallas for one of his fraternity brother's, Clark and Mollie Francis' wedding. I had a lot of fun getting away for the weekend, but wish that Jay could have left town with me. Here are a few pictures from San Antonio!
